About

Hey there! I’m Jess, a general content writer from Fort Worth, Texas.

I have lived in Texas my entire life, mostly the Fort Worth area. I have a BA in Psychology from Texas A&M University (Gig ‘Em!) with a minor in Spanish.

The love I have for writing and its process started in high school. My English teacher took everything I thought I knew about writing papers and melted it down, reshaped, and refined it.

She taught me how to take an idea and break it down quickly and simply. Her course reaffirmed the importance of presenting your ideas in a clear, concise way. With her infamous timed-writing assignments, I learned how to write a paper on a particular, known subject in 30 minutes or less.

Her course coupled with the hours I have spent in writing-intensive courses while working toward my degree rounded out my writing abilities allowing me to adapt to different environments and writing styles.

Why do I share all of this with you?

My past experiences have given me skills to create content that serves your needs quickly and simply. My psychology background helps me level with people and their wants and needs while my writing history allows me to put that to paper.

Consistently creating quality content that engages and educates your readers increases conversion rates and, ultimately, builds trust with potential lifelong customers.

Passions and Interests

My interests include reading, writing, learning how the mind works and why we do what we do, aviation, and language learning. After taking 8 years of classes, Spanish is my favorite. I am working to become fluent since a classroom just isn’t enough. I would love to be able to travel to some Spanish-speaking countries as well!

My love of reading started young with the Boxcar Children series (IYKYK), and I ended up reading everything I could get my hands on, especially mysteries or sci-fi/fantasy novels. Unfortunately, I got very burned out in high school with all the reading assignments, but a few years ago, I got back into it and am very happy I did! My most recent favorite read is the Shadow and Bone series by Leigh Bardugo.

I’m also passionate about learning new ways to organize and keep things clean. Some say that a cluttered desk leads to a cluttered mind, and I couldn’t agree more. Being a big fan of The Home Edit and other great organizers, I enjoy translating that into my writing and creating insightful content to help others clear their minds and their homes.
